So Much Fun!!

Well; the do-nuts are made!! We had so much fun...there were 10 of us ladies from the community making the do-nuts this morning...we made 80 dozen of those tastey little things....and they were tastey..lol....I am soooooo full. It is an assembly line project; one mixes dough...one rolls and cuts out the do-nuts; 2 of us(me) cook them in the grease; then the rest take them from us..sugar them; take them to cool off and wait to be eaten.....tiresome; but good fun...

And the stories that are told while cooking; well, good laughs....then a couple of the husbands come in when we are finished; to eat dinner with us...The lady of the house made a nice casserole..fresh tea biscuts....new pickles...and do-nuts for dessert..imagine new do-nuts; after I snacked on them all morning!!!

Now back home to do my own work for the afternoon..tonight I pick up my turkey which I will cook in a few days....among other things...I will keep you informed on the whole week..

Turkey Supper Week

Good afternoon everyone...just got home from town; had appointments...This is the start of a busy week.
Our annual community turkey supper is on Saturday. Tomorrow is do-nut day..lol...yes; a few of us get together and bake around 700 do-nuts to serve with our supper on Saturday..the folks look forward to these do-nuts every year...so; today is the day I try to get all of my little details at home taken care of; because they won't see me for awhile...and on that note; I best get at it,eh...

The end of another week

Good morning everyone....Just finishing up a little housework; yes, a little..lol..It is going to rain later today; so that means I get to stay inside and quilt today.  Trying to move along with the quilt I;m working on for a lady who brought me 3 tops to hand quilt..don;t think I mentioned that I do hand quilting. I love the past time of it.  Next week is going to be crazy for me; our annual turkey supper is on Oct.2; so busy busy next week..I will keep you updated on the days preparing for this event...We serve around 600 people in 4 hours.Tiresome; but quite the social event...a time to see folks that you only see that time of the year....and they get me to wait on them...haha!  Enjoy your weekend.

My Weekend

Well hello everyone....it was a beautiful weekend...we had our annual fair(exhibition) in our community.
It brought my oldest son and his family to visit with us for the weekend...and I had a blast!! My granddaughter is going to try quilting....and I got to spend time with my grandsons while they played in the dirt at our place....the weather was perfect for it.  I am a quilter; who can;t stay away from it for any more than a couple of days at a time...and I will be posting some stories and pics on here..hope you take a look.
But; as it is supper time here....I am cutting this first entry short; for now...catch you later
