WIP Wednesday

Byay!!! Another week of winter gone.....I should not be wishing time by, but I am telling you...this is enough of winter for me this year...lol.

I am linking up to Monika at http://needleandthreadnetwork.blogspot.com/2015/02/wip-wednesday-182-tn.html and http://www.freshlypieced.com/2015/02/wip-wednesday-home-again.html.  It has been a busy week here but a fun one too. Monday, I got together with 7 lady friends for a sewing day. We met at a church that a couple of them attend and had a great day of sewing, laughing and chatting. There is nothing like it to start the week!!!!

So....WIPs for this week.

I am right in the middle of this customer quilt that I am hand quilting.
Close up...I just turned it, so not a lot to see.
This next piece is a table topper by Karen over at Karen-  Ly Created, Marla and I both worked on one of these Monday.
I like it!!!!
You might remember the peek I gave you last week of the appliqué quilt...here it is on Tiara now.
This is one block...I am doing all over meandering on this one.
Next are the rows for the Bella Solids quilt that our group of 5 are making with our local Fabric shop.
There are 7 rows here to put together, then I am adding 2 borders to give it some more size, as it is lap size right now. It is mainly HSTs with a 4 patch thrown in here and there...very simple but neat.
Tomorrow, I will be doing more hand quilting and machine quilting on the quilts above. Still working on pieces for the Tree Bird blog hop, and I picked up an order for a t shirt quilt today. so, won't be idle.

Have a great week and stay cozy ...maybe snuggle in a nice quilt, eh!!

WIP Wednesday

Here we are again, weeks flying by. You would think with all this snow, I'd be rushing it along, but today was gorgeous!!  I shoveled snow from the walkways and did a little ploughing of snow that drifted across the yard throughout the night. Merrill has been working in the city at snow removal all night and all day today...will be home around 11pm to sleep and do it again tomorrow morning. A least it will be days now!

Today I put this customer quilt in the frames to hand quilt...
This is the beginning of this one...got a few stitches in after supper.
This next one is a small portion of a customer quilt to be machine quilted..appliqué is adorable!!
Will be basting it in a few days and then on the Tiara.

These are the blocks for a quilt that our group did with our local Fabric Cupboard....100s Club.
I take part every year and enjoy it.

Bella Solids...will show you again when put together.

This is fabric I pulled to make a table topper by Karen at Karen-ly Created.
this is the pattern....sorry, it ended up sideways
Might start that tomorrow with a friend...I think that is it for me this time around folks.
Enjoy your week and stay safe...fingers crossed for melting snow...haha!

Free Motion Quilting Challenge/February

Quiltshopgal, over here....  http://quiltshopgal.com/2015-free-motion-quilting-challenge-february/   is doing another challenge this year, and this is our second month.  We had options...I chose #1, which was to use the railroad tracks by Leah Day in the 2012 challenge.

Quiltshopgal also prompted a four leaf clover since St. Patrick's Day is coming up....so, I combined those in my pillow. My pillow is a funky version, which was suppose to resemble the way photos can be distorted....I've only seen it on Facebook, don't actually know how to do it. My grandson does it to my pics once in awhile!!'  Lol.

You will see that I didn't do any dense quilting behind the clover as I wanted to focus on that funkiness!!!!!!  I used a silky material with Glide thread top and bottom. It went well, but I found the fabric really slippery to hold on to.

Close up?????

check out some of the others At the link above....there are some who put extreme work into their pillows.

Storm Day

It is mid afternoon here and the snow storm is really at full force right now. It is getting worse as the day goes on with high winds and complete white out!!

So....I am hand stitching the last part of the binding on the Churn Dash quilt. I expect we will lose our power eventually.

Here she is ......

Binding is green like the border...over half finished now.
I hope everyone stays safe in the blizzard ...I'm going for a piece of cake and a tea!!!!

WIP Wednesday

Has been a long few days here this past week. My husband has been working long hours at snow removal in the city. But with that said....I have been sewing and hand quilting lots!!!!

Two weeks ago I showed you....
Now I am near the end.  One more row of blocks and a border to hand quilt.
And I showed you this....
A small stack of fabric...which has turned into this custom order...
This picture just shows one quarter of the quilt...called Blossom Lane.
This will be hand quilted next....

I am also working on a few projects for the Tree Bird blog hop taking place in March with Madame Samm.  So...hands are not idle for sure!!
