About A Quilt Sampler QAL

It is a lovely Good Friday here today.....a little cool; of course, but sunny snow is melting...yay!!
Here are the first 2 blocks in this QAL  that Amira is hosting.

This is a QAYGQAL....my first one of these. Should be interesting.

And this is the little apron that Connie had the pattern for. We got together Wed. night to make them.
I don't wear an apron well...lol; as you can see...the rocker is the model here...lol.
It's a really simple pattern that goes together quickly.  And as you can't see close enough...the larger button says 'Boss' on it.....hmmmmmmm.

The New York Roundabout!!

This table runner was lots of fun....and it went together pretty well. I was surprised at how much easier it was than I expected.

This is what project Connie and Marla and I started last week....an interesting project!!!
I am linking this one up to Cat Patches for New FOs. I've started quite a few projects this month. Most not finished some are....why not stop by my blog and take a look at the rest.....

WIP Wednesday

Hey ......I know; I am really late today, but I had a headache this morning...just didn't get to it. Sorry.
Connie and Marla were in this afternoon for our sewing get together, they did a little sewing...I talked. Didn't feel like concentrating on the sewing part today, but going back out tonight to give it a try.
We did get a lot of chatting in though....lol.

This week I have a few new things in progress for you!!
This is a double size quilt that I am hand quilting for the same lady that made the last 2 that I posted.

This is a table runner in progress; it is mine!!  Connie and Marla are working on one too.

This is a little progress on the Garden Fence quilt....half the blocks are put together now.

I have picked up another lap size quilt to be hand quilted. So still very busy here.

Linking up to Lee and Monika  take a peek...lots of talent around blogland.

A new Addition to my sewing room

I had an awesome day yesterday!!!  I went to town to watch my youngest grandson play hockey:he is 5.  That was lots of fun;then had lunch with my husband and decided to pick up a few extra bobbins for my Baby Lock.

Well; that turned out to be an adventure.......this is what I brought home with me.

This is my new Baby Lock...Melody. She is what I should have had when I  bought the Tempo. Don't get me wrong; I love my Tempo....mine is actually called Crafters Choice. I bought her before the name change.  It is a great machine; but without the luxuries of 'Melody'. I was chatting with the sales lady...buying a little fabric along with my bobbins. Then I got browsing at machines...he had a few very decent deals on all sorts of machines; from the very basic to way up there!!!!  I couldn't leave her there.  So I took her home; set her all up last night...took a few stitches and went to bed.  Then got no sleep .....I was sewing all night long.....lol!!!

It;s for the Birds!!

Ok....spring has forgot to show up here; so I am hopping away with a new blog hop coming up in May.
So get your wings and come join us in this fun hop....cya there!!!!!!

WIPWednesday

Thank you to Lee and Monika for another week of WIPs...this week I have stayed busy, but still seem to be working on the same things. How'd that happen??????

In progress right now: The little quilt I start hand quilting last week is just about finished;
This is the last strip before one row of blocks....then finished.

I have started piecing a large 'Garden Fence' quilt that Connie from Free Motion by the River had posted....I love this quilt!
I have the 61/2 inch blocks finished...now to add the next step.  Liking this so far.

I put together a little table runner...not quilted yet...using my GoBaby die.....
Aren't these little hens and roosters just the cutest!!!!!

I have a new commissioned one in the thought stages....I think I mentioned it last week...a Fishing Lodge themed quilt.  Still searching fabrics....and planning this one.

Again; I am linking up to Lee and Monika  for a great blog hop.

Meet My Machine

Stacey over at The Tlited Quilt is having a link party and a blog hop. It is a party to meet our machines and talk about our sewing spaces.

So here goes:
  • Please tell us about your current machine - make, model, etc. (and if there's any story behind you obtaining it, etc.)
  • Well; I have 3 machines...the oldest being a Singer which is about 10 years old...it is a heavy duty machine with a lot of functions that I haven't used at all!  Came with an extension table too.
  • The newest is about 3 years old now....my Baby Lock CC which is now the Tempo..love it! I got it when I wore out an older Singer...My dealer recommended it. And my Kenmore Serger.....I've had it for probably 15 years but rarely use it....I love it; just don't have a huge need for it. But it is a great working machine.

  • What's your favorite machine accessory/doo-dad?
  • That would be the speed control and needle down position on the Baby Lock....the Singer doesn't have it.....so nice when FMQ
  • Tell us a little about your first sewing machine - is that the one you still use today?
  • My first machine was a Ricker; I believe...not positive, inherited from my Mom...it was an ok machine back then because I only did mending and things like that at that time.
  • If you could have any machine (let's say you win one for FREE tomorrow...) what would it be??
  • If I could have any machine .........it would be a longarm!! I would have one now; if I had the space...lol.  But that would be the fun one for me. And for a special feature on my machine that I have now....I would like to be able to write with it....it looks much nicer than me writing FM; believe me!!!!    lol
I hope this tells you a little about what I use here in my daily routine.  Now my sewing space. Don't expect tidy now....hahaha

This is what you see when you first walk into my sewing room...clutter!! But it is all fairly organized....really!!

Now as we move to the right of the room....one cutting table here...and my GoBaby.
Continuing around to the right of the space....threads...scraps in glass jars....heading to the ironing area. You see a stack down there in the corner....that is commissioned quilts stacked to be done...along with some of mine.

Now back completely around back to the door again....stacks of baskets full of fabric and shelves of books.
this is the far left of where we started beside the serger in the corner there.   These cupboards hold fabric. Plus above them is a shelf full of fleece.

there ...the doors are open to see all the bolts of fabric!!!!  I told you the room looks cluttered.....but really it is organized pretty well.....just too many little things for the room...lol
I need to get some things down from the walls and put in containers...next project; maybe.

Well; I hope you enjoyed the tour and the info....if you have any questions; please feel free to ask.
I an linking up to The Tilted Quilt...take a look.

National Quilting Day's Work

Good morning all!  As most of you know; I got together with friends yesterday to sew and quilt a bit.
We made a pillow cuff; which was lots of fun. We talked a lot...laughed all day!...and got some sewing done...lol. here is my little project. I took lots of pics to show you the whole thing....except the back; which is basically the same as the background of the front.

close-up with the little buttons
The decorative flaps on each end
And the open finished cuff....wrong pillow insert..but you get the picture...right?
The back is the green with the rust color on each end as in the front of the pillow.  I quilted the front center panel; as it was National Quilting Day!!!  That center piece is tan; which doesn't look it here.
I hope you all enjoyed your day too....

WIP Wednesday

Another week of March gone by folks! Today is rainy here and the snow!!!  I was scrambling this morning to get pics taken for a post today. Too many things on the go....lol

WIPs: 2 scrapie's...which may always be waiting to quilt
I finished hand quilting this little one for a lady yesterday..
a close-up for you...cute little quilt.

I finished FMQ a couple of table toppers........
now a close-up...this is a different way of piecing the Cathedral Window block.
This next one....is a kit from Connecting Threads...I love those guys!!!!
These both have straight stitching with the walking foot; and some FMQ on the outside edges.
This is the next to be FMQ.....again from Connecting Threads.
This is a pick a pocket bag that I made for myself with the same pattern from my Nancy Drew bag.
This is the next quilt to be hand quilted....put it in the frames last night. you can't see it yet....but at the top end of this lap size quilt; is a nice row of colorful Christmas stockings.  I will show you when it is finished.

Now; besides these pieces. I have another table topper to FMQ, and lap size Disappearing 4patch to quilt....and I am about to start a bed size quilt from the Garden Fence patter I got from Connie at Free Motion by the River....check that out. I also have been commissioned to piece and hand quilt a Fishing Lodge Theme quilt by the folks who commissioned the 'Bluenose'....so I will be busy for quite some time.

I am linking up to Lee and Monika  please try to join us.

Nancy Drew is a Clue

Finally!!!!   it is my day to show you what I did for this hop.  This one has been a long time coming; since it was postponed. We've made it though...thanks to our Madame Samm and
Carol for this fantastic hop. They are fantastic ladies...not sure where they find the time, really...but glad they do.

First off; I bought my charm pack from Quilt Taffy...great girls there. I love this line; really much more than I thought I would. And so far; have seen lots of fantastic projects. So on with mine, right?

Here is my little sleuth bag; which I just love! I found the pattern here...pick a pocket purse.  It is so simple to make and so cute.

See; I have my magnifying glass, note book, and little flashlight in the pockets. And that's just one side; the other side has 3 pockets too....go figure...lol
Just so you can see it without the clutter in the pockets. Check out this pattern...it is too easy!
I didn't take pictures of the lining...but it is all done in one step.

Next up is a swing bag........This is so cute for a young girl...the beaded fringe on the bottom...mmmmmm.  A closeup; sure!
And last but not least....a pillow; you know I like pillows, right?
Now the back
Now the pin  doesn't stay there..lol. This pillow form was a bit big for the cover. So for picture purposes...lol.  And I had to use the one charm that was left.
Well that's it for me folks....I hope you enjoyed the projects. Now make sure you visit everyone on today's list....ok. thanks for stopping by.

Lol....you know I didn't forget the giveaway...right????  No way!!!! I have 2-1/2 yard cuts of fabric for you. For this one....you need to follow my blog. Please leave a comment telling me just that.

One is roosters....the other is Sunbonnet Sue; but right now she is upside down....lol....
