Summer Sampler #8

My my these are going quickly...soon have all of our blocks finished.  This was a very fast one to put together.

Now I was in the city from 10am to about 2pm today....roughly.  I had groceries to to see...errands; you know, the usual. But I did pick up some fabric for one of the orders I is for a tiny little girl....I love it!!..One print has buttons all over it....too cute....the background will be in off white.
Then I came home to a parcel from Fat Quarter Shop!!!!!!!!!!!!! Made my day; since it has been a miserable rainy day here.  This is the fat quarter bundle that I won way back there on Julie Hermans blog...loving it!!!
Thank you Julie and Fat Quarter.....

Summer Sampler #7

Boy; I am really wishing I had arranged these fabrics differently for this quilt...this is the first time I have put so many prints together like a rule I would have a white background for all of these. But I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try something different...not liking it at

Besides my planning; it is going well...this block is the string star..and it was very easy to do; though I don't like a string star ...if you look on my work website; you will see a very large one on there that I did..hated doing it!!! But at least it stands out..hahaha.

Anyway; enough griping; I put them together this way; don't like them, but it is done.  So I'll live with it, right?????....Have fun putting yours together.  And if it helps; I cut 3.5 inch strips for each triangle, and used the Tri Tool to flip and cut each one.

Without further here is mine; if you can see the
One day I am going to do this whole thing over in a solid background..I am sure I will like it much better....
I wanted to share these 2 pics with you...they belong to a lady whom I am hand quilting a quilt for.  This is one that she had machine quilted...because of the fabrics it couldn't be hand is one of the most beautiful quilts I have seen...take a look..the pic on the right is just one block...the left is around the center of the quilt...

Summer Sampler # 6

Hard to believe we are that far with these blocks.  I have to say; this one was lot of fun to piece...after I got the size sorted. Thank you Faith and Lee.  I have to resize my page or  I did find a lot of bulk to sew the final center together..but it came out not too bad.  And you'll see a wrinkle in one corner; I forgot to press before adding the next piece there once...leave it to me!!!

Hope everyone is having fun with it is an experience I probably never would have tried if not for this I am thankful for that...I am slowly learning new things....haha.

#4 of the Summer Sampler

Well here it all of it's I don't know if it is because I am tired today; or what.  But somehow I forgot to square up the little squares to 2.5" before sewing them together...darn!!!!  And what I time I had lining; or I should say; trying to line things up with this one.  But all said and done; it didn't turn out bad considering the step I left out... and I squeezed it in between planting a  few shrubs that I got on sale..and doing my laundry and you know all that Monday morning stuff that we have to  This block was a test of my patience; as you can . But I like the block.  So enjoy making yours..can't wait to see them. I also finished hand quilting the log cabin quilt on off the list, is a pic of it.

This week has been busy for me; but mainly working outside in vegetable garden. Now I enjoy that; you know, but the little black flies are killing me!!  I have bites everywhere...this morning one eye is swollen almost shut from a bite I got last night while just walking around my yard....they are nasty....

My works in progress are just about the same as last week; I.m afraid.  Still 2 scrappy quilt tops to be quilted...Harry Potter is still waiting....I ham just about half way through the hand quilting of the log cabin quilt...that's going well.  I picked up another order from a lady in on vacation last that is now 4 commissioned quilts to do.  And I did get the center started on the peek I gave you last week that goes with the blue and white 9 patches.....not stitched down yet..just fused...

So while I wait for the grass to dry from the heavy dew last night;so I can mow lawns. you head over to see Lee at lots going on there.
