May's Goals

I didn't make much of a goal for May....so it wasn't difficult to keep that goal. I wanted to finish piecing 'Texas Teardrop'; and I did...not quilted but ready to be.

And I wanted to practice my machine quilt on Tiara...I have been doing that also; not as much as I would like; but never the less practice.

I won't keep adding photos...you get the idea; right:...lol

Say It With Flowers

 Flowers....my beautiful spring flowers are starting to come to an end.

We had some very nice tulips this year; among other great flowers, but they have to come to an end; I guess.  The wind and rain we have been getting so much of; has taken it's toll on them. Don't get me wrong now; we still have lots of tulips, but they are beaten a bit. So; this makes this hop even more important right now!!! We all love flowers....don't we??

Now you know who we have to thank for this hop; don't you? ....yes; our wonderful Madame Samm, and the fantastic Carol.....and don't forget our ' could not do without' sponsors; Andover.

Ok....on with my little project:  I put together a little table topper; or you could hang it. It is a square on it's point with 4 squares added to each corner in a bright color. I machine appliqued the flower pot and a nice little bouquet of flowers in the center. Then did a little stippling to quilt the background.

Now I would like to show you a few quilts I have done in the past with flowers...First is the 'Sunflower'...

This last one is 'Giant Dahlia'...I have made many many of this one.

WIP Wednesday

Here we are again....and I feel like I haven't accomplished much this week. Now that is because I am working outside as much as I can.  I have also had a stiff neck and sore shoulders since mowing the lawns last week. But; I did it again today....I mowed lawns and cleaned a large flower bed out today.

I am hoping to work that stiffness out of my neck....lol.  Fingers are crossed.

Now on to WIPs: I am still working on this one...half way now....

I did finish quilting 2 baby quilts on Tiara this week.....

I haven't done much with the fishing theme quilt this week; but next week, I hope to change that one.

WIP Wednesday

There is so much going on right now; crazy time of year here. With the weather we have been getting; it is difficult to keep up with the work outside. I need to mow lawns, weed flower beds...it goes on and on. The vegetable garden isn't in yet; so there is that coming up soon.  Overwhelming at times.

Well; on with WIPs: I have a large applique quilt in the frames being hand quilted...

I have a baby quilt waiting to be machine quilted on Tiara...this is pieced with fabric that I won last year....very soft, sweet fabric,

I have the fish put together and appliqued on the center of the quilt....next I will put their names above each of them.

I have a large quilt in the sewing room; waiting to be hand quilted; and 2 more on the way in the next few weeks. I have my 'Texas Teardrops' to machine quilt...and my 'Garden Fence'....not sure when I will get to them.

I am writing this post on Tuesday evening to be ready for this morning; so I am hoping it will be fine today; so I can mow lawns. Fingers are crossed for sunshine!!!!!  Thanks for taking time to read my post. I just noticed that somehow; my font changed during this post writing..lol. That's ok...not going back to redo....lol  Enjoy your day folks!!!

Hello Everyone

Nothing about sewing or quilting right now....just had to share my afternoon with you.  This is what is going on in my pond right now!!  Gorgeous!!!!

 The Canada Geese are so large and graceful...I could watch them in the water all day...but I have to quilt....lol!!!!

 This is a rock that my friend Marla gave me yesterday....her son makes these....I just love it!!! I focused in so much on the rock; that I didn't get any of the tulips.....lol!!

Now; I am not loafing around....haha; just took a tea break from hand quilting. And I have progress with the fish quilt....up date tomorrow.....

So; my second entry is my 'Intertwined' quilt....that I did as a QAL last year....I simply adore this quilt!

Stats: This in entered in the Hand quilting category....It measures 86x86.....cotton fabrics....I pieced and hand quilted it myself.

Bloggers Quilt Festival/May 17-31

It is spring; and that brings one of our favorite times of the year....The Quilt Festival put on by Amy over at Amy's Creative Side. You have to see what is going on....right?  lol

This year I am entering my 'Bluenose' quilt in the applique category....

 That first picture is a little dark....here's a close up....

 and the outside corners....

This quilt was machine appliqued by me...and hand quilted by me.

This was a commissioned quilt that I made in the past year.

Stats:  86x100 inches.....cotton fabrics.....machine applique...hand quilted ....the whole quilt was put together by me.

It has the schooner in the center; with flags and seagulls in the sky.

On the inside corners; it has machine stitched NSEW the compass.

It has roping between the last 2 borders...and anchors in the outsider corners....I love this quilt.

WIP Wednesday

Oh nice; mid week and here we are again...This keeps me working hard, you know..lol.  So; did I get anything done this week? And what am I up to now?????

I finished the graduation memory quilt...but I am afraid to post these 2 quilts until after graduation. So; it will be probably a month yet.  So sorry; but this one turned out very nice. The lady picked it up yesterday and was thrilled with it!!

 I have the appliqued commissioned quilt in now...and have finished the outside border now.  Plus I mowed all the lawns today...lol

I started the fishing theme quilt today....actually cutting fabric and piecing things...it is slow right now because I still don't know exactly what I want yet. But playing around with it right now.

 And this is a start on a Sockeye Salmon....it's not put together yet...I am playing with colors..and he has no fins yet....lol    But this shows you the process for now.

I finished the project for 'say it with flowers' blog hop coming up soon.

This is bad; no pictures for you on these things...shoot!!  I hate not being able to post the pictures!!

About a Quilt/QAYGQAL

Well; it was a lazy day for me today....we delivered our son's lawn tractor to his new home this morning....then did a little shopping for a new grass trimmer for me. yes; I get to cut the grass...lol

Amira  from Sewing Under Little Mushroom Cap posted the 4th block for our QAYGQAL yesterday.

I put it together tonight. It was a very simple block of a leaf. Amira had a few colors in hers. I did mine in white/background and one color. I just couldn't get past the leaf unless in one color...lol.

I also finished quilting the graduation memory quilt tonight. I will post pictures as soon as I can.
