Sewing Day with the Girls

OH my.....I had such a fun day with my sewing buddies!!!!  We got together at Connie's place this morning to make a project.  This time it was a casserole carrier....and I love it!!

We had lots and lots of laughs; lunch together, and lots of learning from each other.  Here are the finished pieces.......

WIP Wednesday

.Snow,snow, and more snow!!!  This is one long winter,  but enough whining..LOL and on to works in progress,eh.  I am on the home stretch for this DWR...a few more days of hand quilting.

It has been a few weeks for this one, but almost there!!!  I have my Garden Fence on Tiara...started it this morning. I do about 1/4of the quilt at a time.

I did this little wall hanging a few days ago on Tiara

and I have a few more blocks pieced for Stash stars

That's about it for me this week....besides washing walls. And my flag was posted yesterday.

Flags on a Stick!!!!!

Time for another fun blog hop....and my day!  I've never actually made a flag before, but had to give it a go.  Madame Samm and Thearica have been very hard at work organizing this hop for all of us;so, let's have some fun!!!!

My little project shows each one of our seasons and my hobby....so here goes

We have the leaves for Fall...flowers for Spring...Solstice for Summer, and tractor for Winter. I know the last 2 are hard to see...they are photos on fabric; not vibrant.

The Solstice is my baby!!!!  the tractor is hubby's baby,,,lol.  and we have quilts on the clothes line.

These are the things that keep me busy year round here at home. Actually, the tractor is used year round, but is wonderful for snow removal!!!!!  the Solstice gives us lots of fun rides during our short summers.

Oh so Pretty!!!!!

I just wanted to share with you a peek at the quilt I am making along with Connie and Marla...2 of my sewing buddies.  I showed you the pattern a couple of days ago..Here is one set of blocks put together....love the color.

the gold color is actually a bit brighter than it looks here too.  Nine colors to go...LOL 

My attempt at McTavishing!!!!

I have to keep at this...it is so much fun!!!!!!  My friend Connie sent me Amy's link, and I am so happy she did!  this is just what I need right now.   So here is my first attempt at it

I know....not the best....but I had fun!    Here is today's start on one; which I left like this because I am looking for something for a small block.  

I do like quilting like this and will definitely keep at it.

I tend to have trouble with the little fillers between the swirls. I hurry too much...LOL

WIP Wednesday

One more week down!!!! Spring has to show up eventually! Right?????????   Someome tell me I am right!!!!   Lol.  This week I am working at a number of projects...Still hand quilting that DWR for a customer.

This is part of the pattern...going slow for me.

I managed to quilt a baby quilt on Tiara a couple of days ago...

this reminds me of a Hippy style quilt...I just quilted little swirls all over.

I posted my ruffles projects earlier today....apron and cushion.

Yesterday I got together with Connie and Marla...we cut fabric our for a quilt.....

Think Ruffles

Another great blog hop folks...lots of ruffles going around our little corner of blogging world.

I am not a ruffle person, but had to get in on it, you know! My little projects actually were fun too!!!!

First up is the apron...a simple little ruffled apron which I will wear on do-nut day. That is the day I meet with ladies in the community to make do-nuts for our annual turkey supper.....over 700 of them!  The only time I wear an apron! as a rule.

There it is....

I made my ruffle the way our Madame Samm showed on her page....nice and easy.

Next is a cushion...no ordinary cushion, mind you...LOL.  My husbands aunt made the front panel years ago...before she passed away.  If I am not wrong; it is a mix of cross stitch and tatting, but I am no expert here.  It has been in a drawer in my sewing room waiting for me to do something with it. What better time than our blog hop????? so, I made a little cushion with it....

Didn't she do a great job on that star!  and my ruffle around the outer edge.  and look Madame....gingham.....lol.

Last but not least, thank you to our Madame Samm and Amy for making this all possible. What would we do without them??????

WIP Wednesday

Hello again from cold New Brunswick...is spring ever going to arrive?  It feels great to be back into my quilting again. I have been busy and loving it!!! Now...let me see if I can remember all the progress this week.
