Christmas in July

My day, my day...thrilled to death to be here again, with all of these fantastic fellow bloggers.  Carol has been out doing herself organizing these hops for all of us.  Let's give a big thank you, Carol!!
I have a couple of pieces to show you this time around...yes, getting carried away with it..lol.

First up, is this wall hanging...you may have seen it at this stage a few months back.
Three paper pieced trees from Tall Tree Trim...now what do I do with these?  Well, this it what I decided on...a wall hanging.
I pieced it together with narrow, 1-2" white background strips, added borders, and machine quilted with wavy, snow mound type lines. And I liked it after all that...lol.
Another view of it...
This shows the different whites in the background. Some are plain whites, and some are tone on tone.
So, that's the first one...now on to the others.
This is the Woodland Forest tree skirt by Karen Neary from Sew Karen-ly Created...
It is so much fun to make, too...I even made a second!
Another view...
Now...my explanation for two skirts is, print your templates from an iPad...get the smaller one.  Print templates from a laptop and get the larger tree skirt. You have a large tree...you have a smaller tree...not a problem!!!

Well, I have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this blog hop, and will be in the next one also.  Please take the time to visit everyone else on the list below and leave a wonderful comment.
Thank you for being here for us.

  3. Absolutely love the simplicity of your tree quilt, but my favorite is the forest tree skirt. It looks like a quick and easy project. May have to search for the pattern. Great job on both pieces.

  4. I love the tree quilt. I love the clean look of it with the whites background. The red/white/green borders set the trees off beautifully. The tree skirts are nice, too. Not having an ipad, I would have had no idea that you get different sizes from different devices - thanks for the tip. Merry Christmas in July.

  8. Oh, Marjorie, you stole my heart with that tree quilt...love it! My mind is already dreaming of sewing one in the near future. Making two tree skirts in different sizes is a great idea. I don't put up a big tree anymore, so a small one is perfect. Thank you, sweet friend, for sharing your projects and stirring my brain with your inspiration! :O)

  9. The wall hanging is wonderful and the white background 'makes the trees'. Two different sizes of tree skirts...that's a super idea and not something I've ever considered.

  10. I thoroughly understand why you made two tree skirts. I did a very similar thing with my bed runners, lol! Your wallhanging is great, too! I like your quilting of it.

  11. I have seen trees like the ones in your quilt before but always as stand alone items. Grouped in your quilt they are stellar. Wonderful idea. Also love your tree skirts. Love your printing skills.

  17. I love your tall trees. I have the big one that hangs on a door during the holidays. I really need to get the ornies made for it, after all these years! LOL!! Who knew that printing a pattern from an Ipad and a computer would give you such a size difference. Good to know! :-)

  21. So very weird that printing from an ipad versus a computer gives different sizes. All of your projects are fabulous, with my favorite being the tall trees wallhanging. Which Tall Tree pattern did you use for the smallest tree and how tall is the smallest tree?

  22. I love your tree wall hanging, it's beautiful!

  23. I like the simplicity of your tree wall hanging. Very modern. I laughed at the reason for two tree skirts. Sounds like something I would have done too. It's an easy way to get two different size skirts.

  24. Love the wall hanging! And I've done almost the same thing with printing patterns- I kept wondering why the applique pieces seemed so small. I ended up with a very tiny elephant.
