Well folks; Madame Samm and Mary have come up with this fantastic idea to have this retro blog hop.
A huge thanks goes out to them...and our sponsors because this has been so much fun!!!!!
I made one piece for this time around, and I hope you enjoy seeing it....
I made a swing bag with flowers made from Batiks...cut out with the GoBaby.
I took 60s pictures from on line and printed them on printable fabric, and appliqued to the bag.
One side of the bag....
close up....
other side of bag....
Now; are you ready for the next pics??
I still have the long straight hair..though it used to be longer.....and the rawhide vest....rawhide choker; that you can't really see...lol
Mini skirt...not the headband I would have wore then, but you get the idea....right?????
Not sure you know; but I was in high school at the end of the 60s; graduated in 71. It was a fantastic decade..And I didn't even get into the wacky tabaccy!!!!!! Even though it looks like I did for these pics...lol.
Now after those pictures; you deserve a giveaway!!!! I have 2 FQs for one winner...just leave a comment.
This solid fabric is actually a deep purple.......
Here is the list for today:

ReplyDeleteMarjorie your bag and "threads" are way out baby! Dig that vest and skirt. I graduated in '73, But I was the youngest in my class because my mom got me into school a year early since my birthday was past the cutoff date since I born in Nov.
ReplyDeleteI graduated from high school in 1960 and was in college during the early and mid 60's. It has been fun seeing all the creative things people have made. Thanks for the great give away. Nancy: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteGroovy threads. You pull it off so fabulously. Ah, the mini skirt. I only had one which I made myself. It just needed to be hemmed the night before school pictures. I was off to some sports practice so I asked my mum to hem it for me. When she asked how short. I said just put it up one hand length. Imagine my surprise when the next morning I discovered Mum's hand length is considerably longer than mine. I did wear that skirt for pictures but not the whole day. Thank goodness Mum had used a sizeable hem so I was able to attach a false hem. It was to become a favorite skirt.
ReplyDeletePurple is my most favorite color! I have also been looking for a deep purple to make a quilt!
ReplyDeleteMarjorie you project turned out so groovy. You are a great model and a way out chick!
ReplyDeleteFar out! I graduated from college in the late 60's after escaping from SF to find a more traditional college town. Now I reside in the 'burbs but my daughter now lives in the Haight because it's close to her work. Your purse is boss and would have been deemed cool. Thanks for sharing.

Year ahead of you in high school, class of 70 but my mini was still a little more conservative but I had the bell bottoms though not wildly decorated. Dad was a pastor so that might explain it.
