W.I.P.Wednesday

Well it is May and that means lots of yard work for me. So; not a lot of sewing going on here until early Fall..but I will always be dabbling in something....just not as much..I love the weather now....and digging in the dirt outside..though sewing will be on my mind...anyway; progress this week......I finished quilting the fan quilt.  This quilt top is around 40 years old; found among a mother's belongings after she passed away.  Her daughter wanted to have it quilted and use it...not forget about it. In I come...lol.  from the picture, you will notice a lot of pink and the blocks aren't sorted out awfully well. She had most of the top pieced....and the daughter made a few more blocks; trying to keep in the same tones....but.   anyway...it is finished...I will bind it tonight....most likely...It is very simply hand quilted, so as not to take away from the fans themselves...and right now I have no other projects started since working outside so much....Of course; I still have 3 scrappy tops to quilt...will pic away at those...now run over to http://freshlypieced.blogspot.com/ and see what is going on with everyone else....it is always a good time...

  1. Good to be outside in the nice weather! That was a lovely thing, to hand quilt that quilt. Looks like you have finished it for mother's day, the daughter can have a piece of her mom to snuggle with. I think it is a beautiful scrappy quilt!

  4. Oh! What a treasure for her to have from her mom! The quilting on this one you did, compliments the fans so well. Enjoy your beautiful days! I am heading out the door to go walking in the neighborhood with a friend...It has been so very long, but since I didnt have to work today...I was able to get my post up, draw some more orders and now get a wee bit of exercise in while it is so beautiful here.

    Blessings & Aloha!
Thank you dear friend for popping over!
We will be on the road to visit our kids this weekend, looking forward to spending time with them & yay! I have the 10 hour drive one way... to sit and work on my quilt, since my hubby insists on doing all the driving :o)
