Wow!! This is my first post with the new blogger face; not sure about it yet. I'll let you know if this goes well..lol. Anyway, cleaning is just about finished; well, as finished as it gets before starting over, right???

                             I finished quilting the cross stitch last night(needs bound)
                             table runner finished
                             about to put another commissioned quilt in the frames to be
                             hand quilted.

FMQ Challenge/April 2012

I have been taking this challenge for 4 months now..put on by SewCalGal and her great instructors. I am having a great time with it too. This months challenge has been the easiest for me so far. This months teacher is Don Linn, who gave a fantastic video tutorial on making your own templates and transferring them to fabric. It worked out wonderful. Thank you Don.  So; here it is.....first I traced the template on to the toole:

This was with a black Sharpie...heat sealed the ink. Voila!!

I transferred it onto the fabric with an air soluable purple pen. I forgot that pic...lol.

Here is the first one quilted:You can still see a bit of the purple pen but not much else. So I did it again....in a little better color fabric.

Now I know it's not perfect...lol, but is improving. I felt more control with this piece. Don't look at my echoing!!!This will be linked up with SewCalGal for the April Challenge....Thanks Darlene and Don; it was fun...and a wonderful lesson.

Gosh..Friday already!

It is a very nice day here; sun is shining, but still a chill in the air. We are by the water; so getting a breeze... I received my package of postage stamp squares from Katie this morning...thank you Katie. I also updated my website; all set for summer, for now anyway.

I did get my display area cleaned and ready for tourist season; I wanted to show you my setup. There are quilts and small items along the other wall too. But I don't want to bore you with too many pics; since you have all seen quilts  lol.

WIP Wednesday

Spring has sprung here in New Brunswick, Canada. Today was windy, but a beautiful sunny day...almost too warm to clear my flower gardens. I did about half of them this afternoon...love seeing the new plants growing.  Tulips and daffodils; all those lovely spring plants are up and growing like crazy now.

So; WIPs.....not much to report here; I'm afraid. If someone would just do my cleaning for me!!!! lol

I am halfway through the cross stitch quilt; it should be finished. There is very little quilting on this; just can't work at it right now. And I have my dresden table runner on the sewing machine. I started FMQ it; but didn't get too far. Once I get the cleaning done.......hmmmmmmmmmm.Soon!!

I Got Mail!!!!

It has been one very busy day for me; yard work and cleaning walls. But it was all topped off with the mail I received.  My FQ Bundle from Diane and Julie of Random Thoughts and Intrepid Threads arrived. It was nicely wrapped with a nice little ribbon, but I tore into it and didn't take a picture...sorry...lol. But you can see the fabric if you go to the link above. It is delightful.

Thank you ladies for this generous gift.  Loving it.

WIP Wednesday

Another week, and I am still cleaning...lol. But really, I enjoy it a little... someone has to do it,eh.  This week I did finish my Blueberry Basket quilt.

This is all hand quilted; in the ditch and a motif in plain blue squares and borders...the back is white tone on tone as in the borders.  I have managed to start hand quilting the cross stitch quilt.....

This won't take long because the blocks are already marked; not much quilting there at all. They want the cross stitch to be the focal point.
so: I have still got the 2 scrappies to quilt...a baby quilt to quilt...a runner. and loads and loads to start.  lol. Oh, and I picked up another commissioned quilt today..it is pieced and sandwiched; waiting to be quilted now.

I've Got Mail!!!!

Oh what a great week!! The mail man brought my order from Connecting Threads today.
I've been anxious for it to arrive...I've never tried their threads; so, looking forward to being able to sit down and sew again sometime soon....does anyone want to finish my spring cleaning?????   lol

Here's my parcel:  Hubby thinks this will be all the thread I will ever need. Yeah right!!!!

Oh I was in the city all day doing business....came home to find out I won a fantastic FQ Bundle from Diane and Julie from Random Thoughts and Intrepid Thread.  It is a beautiful prize; and I am so excited and thankful for this....
