WIP Wednesday

Hey folks!!  It is feeling more and more like winter here.  No snow yet...lol; the sun shines and it fools you into thinking it is lovely out; which it is. But much cooler than it was a week ago!!  Oh well; it is that time of the year, right? Only going to get worse...so I'll stop whining about it.  And you know; it means more sewing time anyway....yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WIPs have rolled so very quickly:  This week I have a finish as well as works in progress to show you....The fan I hand quilted for a lady is finished:

I added a bit of a border to my RTQA top:  still debating whether or not to add another. I would prefer it bigger,,,but?????

I am ready for the 'Holiday Lane Pillow' blog hop too.... a tiny peek for you.

Well; that is it for me this week....I have a commissioned quilt I have to get started right away...
I'll update on that as I go along.  I will be linking up to Freshly Pieced  and The Needle and Thread         please join us and see all the wonderful WIPs for this week.

Have a wonderful day!!!

  3. I am one that is partial to border and I love samplers... and perhaps it is time for me to tackle the fan block - always have admired them, but never got around to making one!

    1. Thanks Susan; so do you think I should add another border or two? I have a mossy green and a pale gold solid out...but just can't decide....

  5. I love the RTQA quilt. I think you would be fine adding another border to it. I would go with a lighter color so that one border stands out.

  10. Since lots are weighing in on this, I would add another border. A pieced one would be beautiful, too. Lovely top! You are so prolific! And it sure is cold out! Forced myself out the door for a walk this afternoon and my cheeks are still burning an hour later. Winter...ugh....

    1. Hi Jennifer....I probably will add another border; thinking just a plain soft gold.

  12. I would add another border. I think quilters focus a lot on what a quilt looks like all stretched out, but on a bed, where it's used, the border hangs off the edge and you'd always rather have an extra few inches to warm up with!

I think I would add a darker border so it sort of fades off, but that sampler is so pretty you won't go wrong!

  13. Your sampler quilt is so pretty, Marjorie!
I think a mossy green border would be lovely, but the gold would really coordinate with some of the blocks - hard decision for sure!!!

  14. I could see a border that was the same as the sashing. Then it would look like a continuation of the quilt.
