WIP Wednesday

We are here again!!  The month is gone and the cold is still here...whaaaat? Yes...cold, frost tonight!

Anyway....on with sewing things. I have the whole center poppy together and love it.

It is the sweetest thing seeing this come together.

Next is the light border, then more star blocks.

I am still hand quilting the appliqué quilt that I was starting last week.

I am working on those squares you see right now.

before long I will have my churn dash on Tiara too.

Tomorrow night the girls will be here for our sewing night...2 weeks left and the summer off. I will miss it.  Might miss the girls too...hahaha!

Next Monday we will be meeting with another group of ladies for a sewing day...that will be fun too.

So folks; besides this, I have just been spring cleaning....down to the sewing room now which will take the summer..LOL  that is why I do it last!!!!!!!!

Finished Swoon!!!

Well, it is ready to bind....and love it!  I finished swoon on the Tiara yesterday afternoon. it is getting much more relaxed to machine quilt. Did you think I would ever say that???? Lol

WIP Wednesday

How fast this month is flying by.....I am so happy to finally see spring like weather.  I so enjoy being able to do a few chores outside during the day,,,like raking the yard and cleaning the windows

Now; works in progress this week are...I finished hand quilting the sea shore quilt for a customer.

This one is what I put in the frames today, to hand quilt...

I have another block pieced for the poppy quilt...

I still have to add the yellow center and stems to the second block, but you get an idea on how it will go together now.  Two more like this to piece..then on to borders.

I am about to start putting my stash stars together tomorrow..I think.

Ohhhhhh....almost forgot; My Swoon is on the Tiara!!! Three blocks left to quilt.

WIP Wednesday

I Am late today, but wanted to show you the progress on the poppy quilt.  This block still needs stems and the poppy center,,,but here is what I hve so far.

I love seeing how it is coming together...so much, I'm neglecting my quilting..hahaha.

I am past the center of this quilt now....

My churn dash blocks are waiting to be put into rows.

Poppy Quilt in progress

this post is for my friend who's daughter ordered this quilt. they will enjoy seeing it come together. the stages aren't much to see for us who make quilts...but for someone who doesn't ; it is quite a process.

The pile of fabrics all labelled with letters and numbers. This is the first quilt that required this...so very many small pieces and similar shades.

LOL...bad bad lighting!   but can see what is going on here.

then the first few pieces connected...

and now; the first poppy bud partially assembled....

It is so pleasing to see those tiny little pieces turn into this!!!!!

I will post more of this as I work at it.

Sewing Day With The Girls

Oh I had one fun day with my sewing buddies yesterday!!!!  In the afternoon I met with Connie and Marla to make an ironing pad that is so simple and can be carried anywhere!  the tutorial was found on "Little Birdie Secrets".  

this was very easy and makes so much sense for going out sewing. we had lots of laughs too!!!!!

then after supper the 3 of us met with Judy and Rose to make duffle bags. You may have seen Marla's yesterday...she did hers a few days ago.  Here is mine....the rest will come later.

this is one side with 2 pockets....adding buttons today.

Connie has still to finish hers.  Because this wonderful lady had to help the rest of us.  Besides quilts; I don't sew!!!!   so zippers and such things are new to me also.   Connie is always there to help us along...she has a very clear thinking head.  Not sure how she does it!!!!  Lol. With all of us...hahaha!!

and a little look at the quilt I am working on right now.

I have 2 waiting to  be hand quilted after this one. One order to piece and quilt....and my own .

I have 2 waiting to machine quilt...and I am still piecing more here and there...LOL.

Well....better get to it, eh. Ttys.

WIP Wednesday and Linky Friday

Another snowy week here in New Brunswick ,Canada.  I want to see grass and flowers soon...or I am apt to buy plastic and stick them in the snow!!!!  Lol.  I have been really busy with quilts this week too...having lots of fun!

I have completely finished the DWR and emailed the customer...sent her pictures.  She was thrilled and she picked out the label for the back of it...as it is an anniversary gift.  So;  we are both very happy right now! Here are a few pictures...now the lighting is dead poor with this snowy day..but take a look.

I have this quilt in the frames and started the hand quilting today.

It's all about the seashore...machine appliqué.
