WIP Wednesday

I know I am a little late, but I wanted to get pictures before posting today. This has been one busy week here; getting the last of my vegie garden in and pickles made.

On to WIPs.....I finished hand quilting the second Log Cabin quilt.

 This quilt measures 105x125 inches....

 A glimpse of the back of the quilt..... these next quilts are the ones going in to be hand quilted in a couple of days.

 This is a customers quilt for her grandson for Christmas

This one is another customer's quilt...all in Batiks....loving this!!

Besides these quilts to hand quilt; I have a cross stitched quilt to put together....I have the finished blocks. I will put sashings and a scalloped border on and hand quilt it.

I also have 2 scrappies, garden fence, texas teardrops, swoon, and the take five that my sewing group worked on last Saturday... tonight I will put the borders on it and add it to this pile to be quilted. I am really hoping to get time to machine quilt some of these ones on Tiara.  Now that outdoor work is getting over; fingers are crossed to get to these.

And I am in on all the blog hops coming up ....love those things. I think I'm addicted!!!!!

October Goals

October is here!!!  Our summer is gone,but yard work is coming to an end...I have to set my goals for the month of Oct. now.....I have 2 quilts I want to finish by the end of this month.  There are really 3...but the Log Cabin is going to be finished in a day or two....so won't set that one as a goal.

I have one small quilt and one queen size to do for this month...I have no pictures of either one....but as soon as I get them out; I will post them for you to see.

Ok...I got the pictures now....First up is the child's quilt I will put it in next for a customer.

 The next is for a different customer...queen size...in Batiks.

Group Sewing Day

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!  We finally got the sun back today...it has rained for the past week or more. I got together today with 4 of my sewing buddies, and we each put a quilt top together. It was a real blast!!!!  Marla, Connie, Judy, Rose and myself.  I have known these girls most of my life; and it is so nice to get together with them with the same interests.

I would love to show you my quilt top right now; but we are meeting again mid week to put borders on them. So, when we take pictures of all of the quilts....then I'll post them for you to see. We all did the same pattern in totally different colors, and what a variety....So; before too long, we will have a nice little quilt show for you.

Tomorrow I hope to get out in the Solstice for a nice sunny drive. Time for my little convertible is coming to an end quickly. Next week I will be really busy preparing for our annual community turkey supper. We serve about 600 people between 3 and 7pm. It is a lot of work, but a lot of fun too.!!!!

September Finishes

The month is almost over!!  I have made it to my goal this month also....finished is the strip quilt I was hand quilting and the Log Cabin is finished too. I am 3/4 through the 3rd one, but that was not set for a goal this month.

Well folks; Madame Samm and Mary have come up with this fantastic idea to have this retro blog hop.

I made one piece for this time around, and I hope you enjoy seeing it....

I made a swing bag with flowers made from Batiks...cut out with the GoBaby.

I took 60s pictures from on line and printed them on printable fabric, and appliqued to the bag.

 I still have the long straight hair..though it used to be longer.....and the rawhide vest....rawhide choker; that you can't really see...lol

Mini skirt...not the headband I would have wore then,but you get the idea....right?????

Not sure you know; but I was in high school at the end of the 60s; graduated in 71. It was a fantastic decade..And I didn't even get into the wacky tabaccy!!!!!!  Even though it looks like I did for these pics...lol.
