WIP Wednesday

Ok...I know it is only Tuesday evening...LOL.  The wind has been blowing like crazy here all day!!  But a good thing it did because I mowed lawns for 3 hours this morning. It would have been waaaaay too hot other wise.   So, on to works in progress ......first up is the picture of Annette's quilt because I have been patiently waiting its arrival which was today!!!!!

This was lovely to hand quilt...Annette did a great job piecing this.

Next up is the Poppy quilt...still working on it, but will be finished in a couple of days.

The wall hanging from last week is pin basted and ready to quilt on Tiara...just to get to it.

I am picking 2 more quilts up tomorrow to hand quilt, plus one of my friends has one for me to quilt, and I have one waiting in the sewing room for after that.  Those are all to be hand quilted. I also have 2 queen size quilts of my own waiting to be machine quilted, plus a few projects to start....more on those a little later.

WIP Wednesday

A whole week has gone by already!!!  We had a gorgeous day here today, Tuesday...I post early.  I didn't get to sew much because I was mowing lawns and weeding my veggie garden.  I love seeing the plants grow!  I was outside pretty much all day today and I am beat...but in a good way...LOL

This week all I have done is finish piecing my wall hanging from Connecting Threads.

that is pretty well the whole thing here, but difficult to see well...I can't stand back far enough in this room.  I'll show it again after I quilt it on Tiara....soon.

and I am this far on the Poppy quilt ....I am in about 45". From the beginning border.

tomorrow is suppose to be rainy, so when I get back from our community hall (cleaning)...I will quilt more on this one.

Wanted to share a small post before the busy weekend arrives. I have the Poppy quilt in the frames and have one border hand quilted. Here is a look at it...

We are invited to our oldest sons home for a nice barbecue on Sunday. Will be nice to spend the day with the children.

WIP Wednesday

Well,we have arrived at mid week again....and here, near Moncton, NB, it has been a very sad week.

A situation that we don't hear about around us ..as a rule.  But on with happier things...WIPs

this week I finished hand quilting Annetes quilt. ..  Putting the binding on now. I won't post a picture until Annete has it home though, but it is this one here...

I have a few more blocks pieced for my wall hanging I started last week.

Now the pictures aren't great...bear with me...LOL

That is a house below the big star...and a light house below the house...difficult to get back far enough in the sewing room.  Soon you'll see it together 

And I have a request for a hunting type baby quilt....believe it or not...LOL

this is one side of it on the Tiara table waiting to be quilted...maybe tomorrow.

the other side is camo.....lol.  I hope the baby isn't terrified...lol

In a day or two I will put this one in the frames to hand quilt...

Not a sewing or quilting post...LOL

There is so much to do this time of the year...and quilting is part of it. this is not that time though...LOL

I just wanted to share with you a little of my home and what keeps me outside right now.

this is our veggie garden..potatoes,beans peas beet, carrots, squash, cucumber and tomato plants.

the last three are under the plastic you see at the far end.  we get wind off the water here, so coverd at night and when really windy until established.

these are a few of the goldfish in our pond...it is a large pond, so this is a small area.  Our oldest grandson put 4 fish in there about 6 years ago.  This is what happened...LOL.  there are hundreds of them and I could watch them all day!

I mowed lawns today and could watch them as I went by the pond several times!!  I have to start over weeding flower gardens now too, but they we're forecasting rain for later today. so, I mowed instead so it wouldn't get ahead of me.  flowers next on the list...LOL

I did finish Annette's quilt, more on it Wed...hope you are enjoying the sunshine like I am he today.

WIP Wednesday

Hey everyone.....Spring has finally found us here in New Brunswick!!  we had a fantastic sunny weekend got our veggie garden all in now. We even managed a nice drive in my little Solstice on Sunday afternoon.  

Now on to the works in progress: I am past the center of Annette's quilt....at this point.

see, you can see the corner block at the top left??  that is the far side of the center....

Not doing much sewing this week because of the lovely weather. I have been outside planting and mowing lawns.  But, I did get together yesterday with a group of wonderful ladies to sew for a few hours.  I got this far on a wall hanging.

This is 2 blocks in the piece, and my youngest grandson asked for a picture of him and his Dad on at shirt...so, I did that today.

cute story...I did this for my son(his father) when his oldest son was born.....put their pic on a shirt for my son.   Ben ...this little guy here...saw it and asked if Grammy would make  one with him and his Dad. He turns 7 this Sunday...no babies anymore!!!

well, if I can stay caught up with yard work....LOL, I hope to get my .churn .dash pin basted to quilt on Tiara soon. I have the summer booked for hand quilting too.
