Bowls with Borders Blog Hop ! and Giveaway!

Wow!!!  The day is finally here, and I am one of the first day participants. I feel so lucky and privileged to be here among the rest of these folks. I sure hope you all enjoy this hop!!

First off; I want to thank Madame Samm and Carol over at  Just Let Me Quilt for getting this together. And we can't forget Regina for letting us have her pattern. Love these ladies, don't we????

I am not used to paper piecing; so it was a bit of a challenge for me to do these bowls.  But I did manage to get it together....lol.  I decided to make a table runner with my bowls. I used scraps from my stash; so each bowl is different. I FMQ it with Essential thread from Connecting Threads. And that I'm not good at either...lol. but did it anyway. There are a few little appliques to fill in empty spaces...  So; here is my contribution to 'Bowls with Borders'.

Commissioned Quilt Finished

This seems to have been a long time coming; actually it took just over a month. But longer than usual....here it is

This measures 100" x100" and is mostly made with polished cotton; which was more than difficult to hand quilt.  But it is a beautiful quilt with all that machine embroidery.  She was so very pleased with it. See you all on Monday for the hop!!

Oh What A Fantastic Day!!!!

I just came in from another physio session...and to my complete surprise I had mail goodies!!! Leona sent me a wonderful birthday gift....I had no idea!!  It is such a lovely gesture which I so appreciate. There is fabric, cute pins, metalic cord..I am thrilled to death.  Thank you Leona.

While I am here I want to show you my RTQAL block/Wyoming...just trying to get back into my sewing projects now.  And I am working on the Sew Intertwined QAL also..may have something to show tomorrow...lol

Back To It!!

Oh I am so glad the past week is over...the stress was unreal! I want to thank everyone who left comments and your thoughts. It was greatly appreciated...I managed to answer a few, but not all. I am sorry for that. Things are bound to get better as time goes on.  Now I want to show you what I received in the mail today. I came home from physio to a nice parcel...

A Sad Week

Good morning to all of my friends out there.  If you have noticed that I'm not here much this week; not commenting on many post...well it is because my husband's twin brother was killed by a hit and run driver on Tuesday evening. Things are a bit hectic here for this week. It was a terrible thing to hear,especially while my husband was working out of town and I had to tell him over the phone.

But life goes on....trying to help his daughters deal with things and arrange things.We will all get through it fine and move on.  But with investigations going on it will prolong all the feelings.

On to blog news...has anyone had problems leaving comments on my posts?? I've had it brought up to me and I have no idea how to fix it if there is a problem.  lol  Just curious.
