A Couple of Finishes

Good morning all!! It is a cold one here today; a good day to stay in and sew.  I finished up a couple of pieces over the weekend and wanted to show you.

First is a table runner that was given out by Sherri McConnell over at A Quilting Life:

 This is done with 21/2`` charms...was quick and fun.

 This is a Christmas one that I did with 4 of my sewing buddies this Fall. It really sparkles in the right light,.

Well;; that`s it for me today...off to finish laundry and do a little hand quilting on a customer quilt.

Friday!!!!!

If I seem excited that it is Friday; not really...goes by too quickly. But it is a beautiful sunny cool day here in New Brunswick, I have laundry on the line and have been doing things outside...lovely day!!

I finished hand quilting the embroidery quilt yesterday; and have a couple of pics for you to see.

It isn't bound yet, but that will be on in a couple of days. Then delivered!!!!!

The lighting is so very bad; this quilt is all white on the back. I didn't want to take it outside...just in case I got something on it....

WIP Wednesday

Ok.......am I the only one who feels the weeks go by too quickly? Where did the time go? So far; we have had a fairly mild week here, and I enjoy that. Getting my Christmas shopping taken care of while roads at good.

We are having a fantastic pair of blog hops this week...hope you are joining in on these. The 'Black Tie' and our 'Blogathon Canada'. 

Now on with WIPs: Last week I told you I was starting the hand quilting on the cross stitch quilt; well, it will be finished in a couple of days.   

                                                 

 There isn't a lot of quilting to do on this one....the blocks are marked ahead of time....so quilts up quick.

 This is a little peek at my 'Black Tie' piece coming up next week...my day is the 26th.

 This is a table runner that myself and a sewing buddy are doing...this is mine; she'll show hers.

This is a Christmas piece we are working on too....an interesting project. I actually used my cording foot for the first time....lol.  You know how you have these things and never take them out!!!

Hello folks; if you haven't been here before...my name is Marjorie. I live in Shepody, Southeastern New Brunswick; a very beautiful part of Canada. Now not 2 miles from me; is the Hopewell Rocks Park...world famous for the largest flower pots in the world. Click here for the Park site.

                                            

I live in a rural community; between Shepody Mt. and Shepody Bay..I have one of the best views around.
This first one is looking from my back yard toward the river.

 This is our pond...full of Canada geese...I love watching them

 This is when he felt I was getting too close...he gave a loud honk and soon they flew.

This is one taken at Mary's Point(bird sanctuary) this past summer...we had 2 of our grandsons with us. They loved the mud!

I have been married for 40 years to a wonderful man; we were babies when we met...lol.  I have 3 grown sons, 4 grandsons and 1 grand daughter.  The ladies in my son's lives are just the best!! 

I have been hand quilting for at least 30 years now; oh heavens...I feel so old now!!!!  I love what I do as my hobby. It is the most fun past time I could think of. And since I started blogging; just 3 years ago...I have met so many fantastic people and learned a tremendous amount from all of you.

I join in on as many blog hops as I possibly can handle...I find them very hard to resist; so I don't...lol

Take Five....this one is my first queen size machine quilted quilt....I have a Tiara which I am still getting used to. Great machine...it's new for me to machine quilt. I get together a couple of times a week with sewing buddies to create projects together...so much fun!!! Two of them are on my list below. I do hand quilting for other people...who may take a class on piecing or simply don't like to quilt.

For The Boys!!!!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I have been waiting for ever; it seems!!! My day to play on the blog hop...lol.
Our wonderful Madame Samm and Amy get a great big thank you for getting us through this one!!!!!
We have great sponsors that we couldn't do without either.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this piece...especially since I have all boys and all grandsons; fun!!!!!
This time I made a crib quilt and it is only for 'Boys'....here goes.

I took pictures from the little one's coloring books, fused them on to the fabric. I then appliqued them with a zigzag stitch. Stitching the facial expressions was so fun!!! I machine quilted little loops and stars all over the background of the quilt.
I took a couple of pics outside, but it was really cloudy; so I came inside and took a couple....not a lot of difference....lol.   But here they are...outside

That backing for this one has little squirrels, mice and birds with bird houses....so cute!
